Back To School Tips

School is back in session! Now is the time to break out the book bags, swap out sandals for sneakers, and pack those lunch boxes. Here are some useful tips to help make this time of year run smoothly in your household:

School Nurse/Medical
Call the school to get all necessary doctors appointments and paperwork finalized and submitted.

After School Activities and Care
Sign up for and organize the logistics of all extracurriculars and after school care ahead of time.

School Clothing
Update wardrobes, supplies, and after school gear.

Routines
Establish a back-to-school routine, set out clothes, have backpacks ready to go by the door, and create a bathroom schedule so no one is fighting over it in the morning.

Calendar
Make a family calendar to keep everyone's activities in one place to avoid overlapping schedules.

Set Aside Time
Set aside specific homework, screen, and family time so everyone can have fun once the work gets done.

Volunteer
Get involved with classroom and extracurricular activities!

There are plenty of other things you can do to get you and your family ready for back-to-school, most important is just to set schedules and plan.
